Peter Bradley Adams is a folk-pop Americana singer-songwriter from Birmingham, Alabama, whose deep musical roots trace back to his grandfather, a former professional jazz clarinetist and accomplished pianist. Adams began learning piano at age six and went on to study music at the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee, the University of Alabama, and the Thornton School of Music at USC, where he focused on film scoring. In 2001, he co-founded the folk-pop duo Eastmountainsouth with Kat Maslich-Bode, who were signed by Robbie Robertson to DreamWorks Records. The duo toured extensively with artists including Lucinda Williams, Tracy Chapman, and Joan Baez, and scored a number-one AAA radio hit with "You Dance" in 2003.
